Silicon Labs, the leader in mixed signal design, has extended the breadth of the QuickSense™ line of human interface solutions with the exciting addition of the C8051F76x family of multi-touch touchscreen controllers, the industry’s first proven touchscreen solution with an open system architecture. The F76x family features an advanced multi-touch resolve mutual capacitance peripheral with 16 simultaneous 10-bit ADC’s to enable high sensitivity and ultra-fast response. The High speed RISC core features direct memory access (DMA) and multiply-and-accumulate (MAC) for lower power and faster response, along with the ability to handle 16-bit data to preserve dynamic range. The I2C/SPI/UART with internal pull-up and optional I2C Vio input provides a flexible communication interface while the 32 kB Flash and 8 kB RAM provide ample space for code flexibility.
Thorough noise interference countermeasures in hardware and firmware ensure immunity to multiple interference sources including LCD and power supply transients. The F76x family is available in the following packages: 24-pin QFN (4 mm x 4 mm x 0.75 mm), 32-pin QFN (5 mm x 5 mm x 0.9 mm), 48-pin QFN (6 mm x 6 mm x 0.55 mm)
