The Atmel AT88CK109STK3 Starter Kit is a development kit for the Atmel AT88SA100S, Atmel AT88SA102S and Atmel AT88SA10HS CryptoAuthentication™ devices that gives developers a tool they can use to develop applications for protection of confidential files, encrypting downloads, performing a two factor logon, product authentication, or the prevention of software piracy. The development kit includes a microbase board with a convenient USB interface allowing the user to connect to a personal computer, and a daughter board that interfaces to the microbase via a 10-pin header. The daughter board has two 3-pin SOT23 sockets for either client or client-host development. The AT88CK109STK3 software developed on the PC can also serve as the base for code to be ported to an embedded microcontroller. The source code can also be edited for integration with ARM or other platforms.

This kit uses a modular approach enabling the daughter board to connect directly to an STK series AVR development platform, which allows developers to easily add security to their application. An optional adapter kit is also available where the 10-pin header on the daughter board requires a different pin out.

The user friendly CryptoAuthentication Utility is used to demonstrate the functionality of the CryptoAuthentication device.
