Customers designing with the Si102x/3x should start with either the Si1024-868-A-DK (this page) or Si1020-915-A-DK, based on 915 MHz or 868 MHz desired RF frequency.

The Si1024 Wireless Development Kit includes:

  • (2) UDP Motherboard
  • (2) UDP F960 MCU card with multiplexed LCD
  • (2) UDP Si102x daughter card (Si102x RF 868 +13 dBm Direct Tie Pico Card)
  • (2) RF antenna
  • (2) Lithium battery (Tadiran TL-2150/S)
  • USB debug adapter
  • (2) Power supply
  • USB cables
  • UDP Development Kit Quick Start Guide Development Kit CD
  • Third Party Tools CD

The Si102x/3x families include wireless development kits that enable WDS support. The Wireless Development Suite (WDS) allows automatic detection of boards and downloads appropriate firmware on the part. It gives RF engineers a platform for rapid evaluation and development of low-cost wireless applications.

These development kits provide support for Silicon Labs’:

  • Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
  • Keil 8051 Development Tools
  • Configuration Wizard 2
  • Keil uVision Drivers

The boards also include several code examples to exercise different hardware features of the Si102x/3x family (e.g., AES block, dc-dc converter, LCD driver, etc.). The examples are portable code modules which may be easily used as a starting point for customer code.

LCD boards are recommended for debug purposes during development even if the final design does not require integrated LCD. The UPPI-series evaluation cards are the engine of an MCU-based system – they contain an MCU, optional radio and minimal support circuitry.
