The MPC8349E Modular Development System (MDS) is designedto aid hardware and software developers using thePowerQUICC II Pro MPC8349E family. The MPC8349E MDS iscomprised of three discrete hardware modules: TheMPC8349E Processor Board, the PowerQUICC Platform I/OBoard and the PowerQUICC PMC to PCI module. The system alsoallows for optional USB and PCI Expansion module interfaces.

The MPC8349E MDS Platform I/O Board is an AdvancedTCA form factor with 4 PMC slots. The Platform I/O board, along with the expansion modules, increase development capabilities. For example:

•  PCI Host mode (3.3V 32&64 bit bus) with single agent (w/ PCI PMC card & PIB)
•  Access to 2nd USB Port (w/ USB PMC card & PIB)
•  Additional USB PHYS (UTMI, ULPI & Serial OTG)
•  PCI Host mode (3.3V 32&64 bit bus) with multiple agents (w/PCI expansion card & PIB)
